Destination Imagination

Destination Imagination information is coming!!!!

Over the next couple of days if you or your child is interested in participating on a DI team this year, please either see your childs' teacher or you can  click on the link below and download the interest forms and send them to school for your child to turn in to their teacher by Friday, October 10th!  After that date I will be getting teams formed and going so that they can have as much time to prepare/plan as possible!

We also couldn't do this without parent involvement, so please consider being a team manager, instant challenge coach, or team appraiser (2 are needed per team!)

If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to contact me by email or by phone, 512-594-4421

Destination Imagination

Destination Imagination® Inc. teaches creativity, teamwork and problem solving to students across the U.S. and in more than 30 countries. Destination Imagination® is an unconventional team learning experience where student teams all over the world solve mind-bending Challenges. Teams are tested to think on their feet, work as a team, and devise original solutions that satisfy the requirements of the Challenges. Participants gain more than just basic knowledge and skills—they learn to unleash their imaginations and take unique approaches to problem solving.
Teams work together for several months to create their solutions to the Challenges, which can have theatrical, structural, improvisational, scientific or technical focuses. Teams also learn and practice creative quick-thinking skills for the Instant Challenge portion of the program.

Teams then present their Challenge solutions at one of sixteen Regional Tournaments during the months of February and March. Teams compete in one of 4 age levels - Elementary, Middle, Secondary or University Level. Winning teams at each Regional Tournament advance to the Affiliate Tournament held in April. First and Second Place winners at the Affiliate Tournament advance to the Global Finals tournament held near the end of May at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.
